INSURANCE

The cost of your Work & Travel Program includes comprehensive health insurance, which includes not only coverage for medical care and hospitalization but will also cover medical evacuation (your return home in case of serious illness or accident). Routine physicals, most dental work, and most eye care are not covered, so be sure that you have attended to these concerns before leaving home. Some physicians may require you to pay for treatment at the time of service and file your own insurance claim with the insurance company. You will be provided with a claim form when you receive your DS-2019. If you need to file a claim for reimbursement, complete the form and send it directly to the insurance company along with the receipts. Note: All types of insurance have a deductible/co-pay. This is an amount you have to pay before the insurance will pay anything and is usually around $50.
