Duties and Responsibilities
Lifeguards ensure the safety of patrons of an aquatic facility by preventing and responding to emergencies. A Lifeguard is responsible for enforcing all pool rules fairly and consistently, ensuring proper pool water chemical levels, record keeping and maintaining a clean and enjoyable aquatic facility.
Being a lifeguard means you’re trusted with the lives of others, so you’ll need to be extremely responsible, attentive, and patient (“No running! Slow down!”). You’ll be rewarded for your hard work with not only weekly and monthly bonuses and incentives, but making lifelong friendships. Which is awesome!
Main Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Maintains constant surveillance of patrons in the facility; acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of emergency.
Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintains a high standard of customer service.
Performs various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility in accordance to local health department codes.
Prepares and maintains appropriate activity/accident reports.
Additional/Secondary duties include the following:
Opening procedures of each facility
Clean deck, tables, chairs and tiles
Vacuum, skim, record chemical levels of pool
Inspect all filtration equipment
Check Filter pressure and backwash if necessary
Remove trash
Close umbrellas, arrange chairs and inspect facility at end of the day
Enforce the facilities pool rules for the safety of everyone involved
Consistently maintain a POSITIVE ATTITUDE
