What is the Summer Work & Travel Program?
The Exchange Visitor Program is governed by U.S. Departments of State. The purpose of the Summer Work & Travel Program is to provide foreign students an opportunity to become directly involved in the daily life of the people of the United States through travel and temporary work for a period up to four months during their summer vacation.
With J1 / Work & Travel Program you can:

- Improve your English communicating skills

- Gain valuable work experience
- Travel and visit exciting places
- Earn money
This Program is for you if:
- You are between the ages of 18 and 28 years old
- You are currently enrolled in a college or university outside of the U.S.A
- You are a full time student at the time that you submit your application and you are registered for a full time course load for the semester following your work/travel program
- You are able to function in an English speaking society
- You are able to arrive in the U.S.A. before your employment period begins-May 27, 2011
- You are able to stay in the United States through the duration of your program from May 27, 2011 to September 5, 2011
- You are able to pass Lifeguard/CPR Training and capable of performing the duties and tasks outlined in your job description
- You have excellent work ethics
- Have advanced communications skills in English
AquaSafe Summer Work & Travel Program includes:
- Job offer for lifeguarding from AquaSafe Pool Management, Inc.
- DS 2019 Form
- Health insurance
- Work permit
- J1 visa
- Orientation and meeting with the company representative in your home country
- 3-4 day training to become professional lifeguard in your home country
- Certifications for CPR, First Aid and Lifeguarding
- Pool Operator Training and Certificate
- Assistance with embassy documents and preparation
- Assistance with buying your airplane ticket
- Free airport pick up from Washington Dulles International Airport
- Basic apartment furniture
- Support from AquaSafe, your Recruiter and Sponsor during the entire duration of Work & Travel Program
